At my previous job, I was selected to present at the national conference in New Orleans, and although I have to admit I had no interest in going, I figured since I never get to travel anywhere for work that I may as well take advantage of this free trip while not having to deal with work for a week. Well because the conference didn't technically start until 1:00 pm on the first day, I decided to explore the french quarter for a few hours, and by explore I mean shop in the cute boutiques and go into LUSH and buy more I Love Juicy because mine exploded in my damn luggage! Side note, if you have not tried any LUSH product...stop what you are doing and go... I should totally do a blog on my favorite products!
As I am walking around all the cute little streets, while looking for Brad and Angie's home, (which I found by the way!) I stopped at Cafe Du Monde and decided to get like 20 beignets and eat them all as I walked back to my hotel. As I was walking through Jackson Square eating beignets with powered sugar all over me, I noticed that I was walking right through a movie set. At first I thought it was those artsy students making a home video when I stopped a lady with a clip board and asked her what was going on...this was our conversation:
Me: What's going on?
lady: They are filming a movie?
Me: OMG is it a lifetime movie?
Lady: No, it's a Tyler Perry Movie
Me: Is it Big Mamma's House?
Lady: No, (tells me the name, I forget) then says, you know since you were walking around why they were filming, you may have a cameo. Can you sign this form for me?
Me: Oh okay....and as I start to walk away I see the main actress (who is the black girl from Full House, Michelle's little friend) IN THESE AMAZING GREEN SHOES! So like a crazy person I make a mad dash to her. I say excuse me, and interrupt her conversation with someone important, and say " Your shoes are fierce! I am in love with them" to which little Michelle Tanner's friend says "Girl, you have amazing taste" and then walks away! I tried to take a picture of them as I was walking away (see below, lady in long plum coat)...but trust me when I say..AMAZING!

Coincidentally it was also at this conference, well at the airport, that is the reason I got my new job and now have a new life in Washington D.C. You never know what will happen at the airport.....Let Melissa's life in the city begin!
FINALLY!!! Now keep it up you crazy woman.
