I'm Back

Hello fans... All three of you:)! I am back to the blogging world. I know I have said it before, but this time I am going to really try to keep at it. So with that being said, here is my life update: still in D.C., still like my job ( well most days anyway) and still have poppyseed muffin (the cat). Every one is freaking out over Frankenstorm! It's supposed to be cray cray this weekend, which means I gotta hit up Whole Foods to get some organic milk and Crate and Barrel to pick up my new throw pillows ASAP! I have been craving these velvet throw pillows for 3 weeks now and Frankenstorm better not get in my way. Damn, a girl needs her couch accessories.

Happy weekend!

New Orleans=Washington D.C and a Tyler Perry Movie Cameo.

I literally have been meaning to blog about this for a long time now...However I got side tracked with being promoted at my job and having to move to Washington D.C.....How did that happen you may ask? Well here is the story.....

At my previous job, I was selected to present at the national conference in New Orleans, and although I have to admit I had no interest in going, I figured since I never get to travel anywhere for work that I may as well take advantage of this free trip while not having to deal with work for a week. Well because the conference didn't technically start until 1:00 pm on the first day, I decided to explore the french quarter for a few hours, and by explore I mean shop in the cute boutiques and go into LUSH and buy more I Love Juicy because mine exploded in my damn luggage! Side note, if you have not tried any LUSH product...stop what you are doing and go... I should totally do a blog on my favorite products!

As I am walking around all the cute little streets, while looking for Brad and Angie's home, (which I found by the way!) I stopped at Cafe Du Monde and decided to get like 20 beignets and eat them all as I walked back to my hotel. As I was walking through Jackson Square eating beignets with powered sugar all over me, I noticed that I was walking right through a movie set. At first I thought it was those artsy students making a home video when I stopped a lady with a clip board and asked her what was going on...this was our conversation:

Me: What's going on?
lady: They are filming a movie?
Me: OMG is it a lifetime movie?
Lady: No, it's a Tyler Perry Movie
Me: Is it Big Mamma's House?
Lady: No, (tells me the name, I forget) then says, you know since you were walking around why they were filming, you may have a cameo. Can you sign this form for me?
Me: Oh okay....and as I start to walk away I see the main actress (who is the black girl from Full House, Michelle's little friend) IN THESE AMAZING GREEN SHOES! So like a crazy person I make a mad dash to her. I say excuse me, and interrupt her conversation with someone important, and say " Your shoes are fierce! I am in love with them" to which little Michelle Tanner's friend says "Girl, you have amazing taste" and then walks away! I tried to take a picture of them as I was walking away (see below, lady in long plum coat)...but trust me when I say..AMAZING!

Coincidentally it was also at this conference, well at the airport, that is the reason I got my new job and now have a new life in Washington D.C. You never know what will happen at the airport.....Let Melissa's life in the city begin!
